CIRCULAR-PV Showcased at CETPartnership TRI 2 LCA Workshop

Savannah Bennett from Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) represented the CIRCULAR-PV project at the CETPartnership TRI 2 Life Cycle Assessment in Renewable Energy Online Workshop, held on 20 November 2025. The workshop, organised by CETPartnership – TRI2 Enhanced Zero Emission Power Technologies, brought together experts from multiple projects to discuss lifecycle assessment (LCA) challenges and explore synergies for sustainable energy technologies.Â
During the CETPartnership Project Flash Pitches, Ms Bennett presented CIRCULAR-PV’s approach to LCA, highlighting the challenges faced when assessing emerging PV technologies such as perovskite photovoltaics. A key issue identified was the availability and quality of data, which is critical for implementing accurate LCA studies and supporting sustainable design decisions. The session provided an excellent opportunity to exchange insights with other projects, identify collaborative approaches, and explore pathways to overcome shared challenges in lifecycle assessment for next-generation renewable energy technologies.Â
Participation in the workshop reinforced CIRCULAR-PV’s commitment to sustainability, circularity, and evidence-based strategies, while strengthening connections within the CETPartnership research and innovation network.Â
