The program provides the relevant knowledge and background for local and decentralized energy production from Renewable Energy Sources (RES), energy storage, self-consumption optimization, energy distribution and supply, the development of electric charging stations and the application of nanogrids and microgrids in energy communities.

The program aims to educate the participants about the operation of the competitive electricity markets, which in recent years have experienced rapid growth on a global scale and especially in Europe, based on the current transitional regulation in the electricity market of Cyprus.

The program provides the necessary knowledge about green hydrogen in the energy transition, such as hydrogen production from renewable energy sources, energy infrastructure, electrolyte technologies, fuel cells and hydrogen use in vehicles and industry.

The program provides the necessary knowledge about heat pumps in the energy transition, such as heating and cooling system design, their integration with Renewable Energy Sources (RES) systems, quality of products and installations in residential, commercial and industrial buildings, their use for heating and cooling in residential renovations.

Concepts, framework and policies for an inclusive green economy

The program provides the concepts, framework and policies for the transition to an inclusive green economy. In addition, the program identifies all the enabling conditions leading to green national economies and the main opportunities and challenges in key sectors.

Operation, maintenance, performance evaluation and troubleshooting of photovoltaic systems

The program provides the necessary theoretical and practical background for the supervision and control of photovoltaic (PV) systems, including checks and measurements of the operation and performance of the frames and the electrical/mechanical system, preventive maintenance, performance evaluation, troubleshooting and fault recovery.

Control and inspection of photovoltaic systems

The program provides the necessary theoretical and practical background to ensure the quality and operational safety of photovoltaic (PV) systems in order to ensure the long-term operation and minimization of errors of grid-connected PV systems.

The program provides the necessary theoretical and practical background for the design, installation and operation of new photovoltaic (PV) system technologies that integrate and replace building envelope materials.

New concepts and emerging applications of photovoltaics (standalone and hybrid photovoltaic systems, agro-voltaic and floating photovoltaics)

The program aims to educate participants on new concepts and emerging applications of photovoltaics (PV) such as stand-alone and hybrid PV systems, agro-voltaic, vehicle-mounted PV and floating PV.

Circular economy of PV systems: opportunities for repair, reuse or recycling

The program provides the necessary circular economy knowledge and background for Photovoltaic (PV) systems, and the main purpose of the program is to educate participants on the opportunities that will arise for PV repair, recycling and/or reuse of PV and/or waste materials.

Energy storage: A versatile role in the modern power grid

The program provides the necessary theoretical and practical background regarding energy storage and in particular for household systems. Specifically, it includes the design, installation and operation of Energy Storage Systems (SES) that are combined with Renewable Energy Sources (RES) systems.

The role of energy flexibility and efficiency in grid transformation

The program provides the relevant knowledge of energy flexibility and efficiency in grid transformation and includes technologies such as demand management, integration of smart meters and devices, and modification of user consumption profile.

Emerging technologies and skills to develop smarter and greener cities

The program provides knowledge and skills on emerging technologies such as the internet of things, artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data to develop smarter and greener cities.
