PHAETHON Relaunches Internal Briefing Series with Focus on Innovation

First session introduces Innovation Hub to support researchers in developing ideas, fostering collaborations, and creating real-world impact

On 18 March 2026, the PHAETHON Centre of Excellence hosted the inaugural session of its new Internal Briefing series, designed to connect colleagues across the Centre and share knowledge on key developments, initiatives, and opportunities.

The first session, titled Innovation @ PHAETHON, focused on the introduction of the PHAETHON Innovation Hub, a dedicated initiative aimed at supporting research teams in advancing ideas, fostering collaborations, and translating research into real-world impact.

Key presentations included:

  • Prof. George E. Georghiou, CEO, provided updates on PHAETHON CoE and ongoing initiatives across the Centre.
  • Matthew Norton, Innovation Manager, discussed Innovation and the Academic, emphasizing the importance of bridging research with practical impact.
  • Nikolas Kourtis, Innovation Officer, presented the Innovation Hub and outlined the ways it will support research teams in developing ideas and collaborations.
  • Nicolas Jarraud, Head of Project Management Unit, Cyprus Seeds, shared insights from the PHAETHON Teaming Project (WP5), highlighting partnerships that drive innovation.

The session concluded with a networking coffee, giving colleagues the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and celebrate the Centre’s collaborative culture.
