PHAETHON Project Support Unit Training at the University of Groningen

A delegation from the PHAETHON Project Support Unit (PSU) attended a specialised Training at the University of Groningen, between 23 and 27 June 2025.

This was the second in-depth training designed to enhance the procedures and services provided by PHAETHON’s Project Support Unit, further contributing to increasing the CoE’s participation and success rates in competitive funding programmes.

The Training focused on supporting the development of Horizon Europe Pillar II proposals, along with proposal writing for European Research Council (ERC) and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) grants. It also covered Open Science practices, as well as project management and reporting under Horizon Europe.

A huge thank you to our Advanced Partners for co-organising and delivering this comprehensive and tailored Training. More specifically, we would like to thank the following UG Trainers: Georgian Nedelcu, Giulia Trentacosti, Mohammad Gharesifard, Maurits Masselink, Martijn Blikmans-Middel, Henk Mulder, Lauren Seex, Nati Mansilla Ovejero, Catherine Meissner, Marlies Kluck, and Gema Ocana Noriega.

Conversely, the PHAETHON Trainees consisted of: Stamatis Dimopoulos, Michael Tzionis, and Ioannis Theodorou.

This marks the second Project Support Unit Training organised under the framework of the PHAETHON Teaming Project (Task 2.4: Project Support Unit of WP2 – CoE establishment, management and human resources recruitment).

We look forward to building further on this strong partnership and continuing to strengthen our research support capacity.
