PHAETHON CoE Achieves ISO 9001:2015 Certification

Establishing a quality management system underpins the Centre’s commitment to quality and excellence
The PHAETHON Centre of Excellence (CoE) is proud to announce that its operations are now fully ISO 9001:2015 certified. This follows a rigorous audit by TÜV CYPRUS, a leading international certification body, confirming that the Centre’s management system meets internationally recognised standards for quality management, ensuring consistency, transparency, and continuous improvement across all activities.
The ISO 9001 certification covers the full scope of PHAETHON CoE’s work: research, development, innovation, training, and consultancy services in the field of intelligent, efficient, and sustainable energy services.
ISO 9001 is built on seven quality management principles:
- Customer Focus – prioritising stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Leadership – fostering a clear vision and direction.
- Engagement of People – empowering teams at all levels to support the activities of the Centre.
- Process Approach – managing activities as interconnected processes.
- Improvement – driving continuous enhancement of performance.
- Evidence-Based Decision Making – using data and facts to guide choices.
- Relationship Management – building and maintaining strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.
As noted by Dr. George Makrides, Director of Operations:
“Achieving ISO 9001 certification is a testament to our team’s dedication to excellence. It strengthens our ability to deliver high-quality research and innovation while reinforcing trust with our partners, funders, and stakeholders. This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and impactful outcomes in the energy sector”.
PHAETHON CoE will continue to uphold these standards and undergo regular assessments to ensure ongoing compliance, marking another important step in advancing its mission to deliver sustainable, high-impact solutions in energy.
