Lars Nordström
Lars Nordström (Ph.D., MSc.EE) is Professor in Information Systems for Power System Control at KTH – The Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. He is presently head of the division of Electric Power and Energy systems at KTH, and a parttime R&D advisor at Svenska kraftnät, the Swedish TSO. His research and teaching is focused on issues at the crossroads of control, communication and power systems. His research interests include future architectures, functionality and quality aspects of Information and communication systems used for power system control, operation, automation and protection. He has served as director of the Swedish centre of Electric Power Engineering and as Thematic leader for Smartgrids and electric storage in KIC InnoEnergy He has been a visiting professor at Washington State University and visiting researcher at the UC Berkeley TRUST centre. He is the author of numerous scientific papers in journals and international conferences, a senior member of the IEEE, CIRED and Cigre and past chairman of the Swedish mirror committee of IEC TC57.

Jürgen Werner
Jürgen holds a PhD and habilitation in Applied Physics. He has been a Full professor since 1996. He has served as the Director of the Institute for Photovoltaics at the University of Stuttgart for over 25 years. He is the founder of several companies in the technology and installation of photovoltaic cells and systems. Jürgen has a solid background in the technology of high-efficiency industrial solar cells from crystalline silicon as well as from thin films. He has taught photovoltaics, micro-, optoelectronics, energy conversion, renewable energies, semiconductor physics. He has been a Reviewer for banks investing into photovoltaic cell and module productions. Jürgen has been a Visiting Professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, for over ten years. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the journal /Solar/.
