Join us for your Summer Internship at the newly established PHAETHON Centre of Excellence!

Over the years, the FOSS Research Centre for Sustainable Energy has built effective internship programmes and offered a series of exciting educational activities. PHAETHON Centre of Excellence (CoE) is continuing in this vein, investing in the younger generation, by offering undergraduate students in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics the opportunity to participate this summer in an enriched Internship Programme.

Join a cohort of like-minded interns from across the globe and gain the know-how to accelerate your career, through technical coursework, workshops, and hands-on experiments.

Our internship programme is designed to contribute in launching the careers of undergraduate students! Here with us at the upgraded PHAETHON CoE you will gain the know-how to accelerate your career, through technical coursework and workshops, as well as hands-on experiments. Your internship will be supervised by renowned academics and researchers from the University of Cyprus, who will serve as dedicated mentors that will help personalize the programme for each of you.

Moreover, Internships start at the beginning of June and end no later than the end of August, with flexible start and end dates. Every year, the FOSS Internship Programme has accepted students from across Cyprus, Europe, the UK and the USA, from world renowned universities including the University of Cambridge (UK), Princeton University (USA), Texas A&M University (USA), The University of Edinburg (UK), The University of Jaen (Spain), The University of Deusto (Spain), The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), and the University of Cyprus, to name a few. This year’s first PHAETHON CoE Internship Programme will continue that tradition, welcoming students from across the globe.

Participants will benefit by participating in the PHAETHON CoE Internship Programme in multiple ways, specifically, they will have the unique opportunity to:

  • engage and interact with professionals in the field, as well as with other students from different Universities across the globe.
  • gain hands-on experience dealing with real problems, in some cases, in collaboration with industry professionals.
  • be introduced to new technologies and innovative solutions, as well as operate professional state-of-the-art equipment located only in a few places globally.
  • be trained and properly supervised by world renowned Academics and Researchers.
  • present the results of their research work at high-level fora.
  • acquire skills in communication, leadership and teamwork.
  • enhance their professional, social and networking skills.
  • develop a spirit of cooperation and teamwork by undertaking projects both individually and/or in small groups.

Interns will have the opportunity to be directly involved in the research activities of the PHAETHON Centre of Excellence, engaging with timely topics under the supervision of UCY academics and researchers.

Candidates should possess the following:

  • Strong work ethic.
